BLKXR Radio
Your music on air
A licensed internet radio station playing Afrofuturist, R&B, gospel, hip-hop and lo-fi from independent artists — including creators making music with AI tools. Monthly airplay plans begin at $16.
Who this is for
Creators using AI tools
If you write and produce on a paid, commercially-licensed plan, your music can air here. Most stations quietly refuse AI-assisted work. This one does not — as long as the licensing is real and the AI use is disclosed.
Independent artists
Recorded in a studio, at home, or released through a distributor — if you control the master and the track is cleared, it can go into rotation alongside everyone else.
What is required
These are the conditions for airplay. They protect you as much as the station — a track that is not properly cleared cannot collect royalties for you either.
You own or control the recording
You hold the rights to the master, or you have written permission from whoever does.
It is cleared for commercial airplay
Either the track is registered with a PRO (ASCAP, BMI, SESAC), or it was made under a paid, commercially-licensed plan. Free-tier AI output is generally licensed for personal use only and cannot air on a commercial station.
AI use is disclosed
If any part of the track was generated with AI, say so on the submission form. Disclosure is not a barrier — most of the catalogue is AI-assisted. Undisclosed AI is the problem, not AI.
A signed submission form is on file
One form per artist, covering credits, ISRC where you have one, PRO and IPI number, and your SoundExchange payee details so royalties can find you.
Monthly plans
Plans are billed monthly and counted in track slots — a slot is one song in rotation. Additional slots beyond your plan are $3 each per month.

How it works
- 1Email to say what you have — how many tracks, and how they were made.
- 2You get the submission form. Fill it in once, covering credits, rights and AI disclosure.
- 3Once the paperwork is clear, your tracks are tagged, uploaded and put into rotation.
- 4You are invoiced monthly. Add or swap tracks as your catalogue grows.
About your royalties
Airplay can earn you money, but only if your accounts are set up in your name. These have to be your own accounts, with your own banking attached — nobody can open them for you.
- SoundExchange — collects digital performance royalties for recordings. Register as both the featured artist and the rights owner, or you collect half of what you are owed.
- Your PRO — BMI, ASCAP or SESAC — collects songwriting and publishing royalties. Joining opens the account; you still have to register each individual song as a work, with its splits.
- Your distributor — issues the ISRC codes that let reporting systems match a spin to you. Without one, matching falls back to artist and title.
